Ethiopia reaffirms support for just and lasting solution to Western Sahara issue

New York, 13 October 2026 (SPS) – Ethiopia has reaffirmed its support for a just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution to the Western Sahara issue, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.

Addressing the UN General Assembly’s Fourth Committee on Monday, Ethiopia’s representative welcomed ongoing UN efforts to advance the political process through dialogue and consultations.

Ethiopia called on the parties to demonstrate political will and engage constructively and in good faith to achieve a peaceful, comprehensive and lasting solution to the conflict.
