Madrid (Spain), 18 December 2025 (SPS) – The Association of Friendship with the Sahrawi People in Seville (AAPSS) has launched an initiative entitled “Young Journalists 2030: For a School that Instills a Culture of Peace” to shed light on the situation of Sahrawi children living under Moroccan occupation.

According to a report published by the association on its official website on Wednesday, on the occasion of a recent visit by Spanish children to the Sahrawi refugee camps, the initiative included visits to schools, hospitals, and development projects, as well as daily direct interaction between Spanish and Sahrawi children in classrooms and through games. The aim was to present an accurate picture of the lives of Sahrawi children and their ability to remain resilient despite the harsh conditions imposed by the Moroccan occupation.

Those in charge of the project, which is overseen by the Andalusian Agency for International Development Cooperation, clarified that its main objective is to train Spanish children in field journalism and enable them to convey firsthand testimonies about the daily situation of Sahrawi children, moving away from the simplified humanitarian discourse adopted by some European reports.

In its early stages, the project has already produced diverse media content, including videos, podcasts, and live interviews, demonstrating that Sahrawi children have a voice and the ability to express their daily reality and future aspirations, while challenging the false narratives promoted internationally by Morocco.
