Rabat (Morocco) 5 November 2025 (SPS) – The Workers’ Democratic Way Party (Annahj Adimocrati Alumalli) reiterated its steadfast support for the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, following the conclusion of its 3rd National Council, held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the party’s central headquarters in Rabat.
In its final communiqué issued after the Council’s deliberations, the party addressed the latest developments concerning the question of Western Sahara in light of the most recent UN Security Council resolution. It recalled the position adopted at its 5th National Congress, held in July 2022, which called for resolving the Western Sahara conflict based on the principle of self-determination and through a serious dialogue grounded in relevant international resolutions, in order to spare the region further suffering and pave the way for democratic solutions and the building of Maghreb peoples’ unity.
The party emphasized that opening direct, responsible, serious, and balanced negotiations between Morocco and the Polisario Front could constitute a genuine path toward a peaceful, just, and mutually acceptable political solution to the conflict, within the framework of international legitimacy.
Such a process, the statement added, would guarantee the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, end the suffering of Sahrawi refugees, put a stop to regional tensions, and prevent the area from sliding into another devastating war.
The Democratic Path Workers’ Party further stressed that the pursuit of peace cannot substitute for the pursuit of justice in resolving the conflict, affirming that self-determination is not merely a slogan but a prerequisite for coexistence among peoples based on freedom, equality, and dignity.
