Bir Lehlu (Sahrawi Republic), 20 July 2026 (SPS) – President of the Republic, Brahim Ghali, sent a congratulatory message to Nicaragua's presidential couple, Commander Daniel Ortega Saavedra and Ms. Rosario Murillo Zambrana, on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution.
“On behalf of the people and government of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, and in my own name, I have the pleasure of extending our warmest congratulations to you on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista Popular Revolution, which marked a historic milestone in the struggle of peoples for freedom, dignity, social justice and national sovereignty,” the President of the Republic wrote to Nicaragua's Co-Presidents.
The President of the Republic highly praised the firm position of the Nicaraguan Government in support of the principles of international law, the self-determination of peoples and solidarity among nations struggling against colonialism and all forms of domination.
He expressed his deep gratitude for the constant support that the Republic of Nicaragua has provided to the just cause of the Sahrawi people in various international forums, as well as for the historic relations of friendship, cooperation and fraternity that unite the two peoples and governments.
President Ghali reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Sahrawi Republic and the Republic of Nicaragua, in the service of peace, justice and international solidarity.
