Boujadour Wilaya, 27 October 2026 (SPS) – The Boujadour Wilaya in the Sahrawi refugee camps witnessed mass demonstrations on Tuesday against the US draft resolution on Western Sahara, which protesters described as biased and disappointing to the aspirations of the Sahrawi people.
The demonstrators condemned what they considered clear bias on the part of the United States, in its capacity as penholder on the Western Sahara issue, arguing that the draft contradicts international legitimacy and disregards the Sahrawi people’s inalienable right to self-determination.
The protesters stressed that any settlement of the conflict must be based on international law and the principles of international legitimacy. They also criticised the draft for overlooking Morocco’s continued violations of agreements concerning Western Sahara.
The demonstrators reaffirmed that the Frente POLISARIO is the legitimate and sole representative of the Sahrawi people.
