Aitor Almendra wins 26th edition of Sahara Marathon

Smara Wilaya, February 24, 2026 (SPS) – Spanish runner Aitor Almendra has won the 42 km race, becoming the champion of the 26th edition of Sahara Marathon.

Aitor said that “my participation, the first in this sporting solidarity event, is part of solidarity with the Sahrawi people and their legitimate cause”.
