Shaheed El Hafed, 08 December 2025 (SPS) – The Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, President of the Republic, Mr. Brahim Ghali, chaired today, Monday, the proceedings of the 8th ordinary session of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front.
The 8th ordinary session of the National Secretariat will focus on discussing developments related to the Sahrawi cause and identifying the major tasks for the upcoming phase, through an in-depth discussion and analysis of the situation of the national cause in all fields and arenas. This will be based on reviewing the report submitted to the session by the Permanent Office of the National Secretariat and the specialized committees, particularly covering the period since the previous ordinary session.
In his speech during the opening of the session, the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, President of the Republic, indicated that the period under review witnessed the regular implementation of the scheduled programs across various fronts, foremost among them the continued combat operations of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, as well as political, social, economic, external relations, and media activities.
The period — he added — was also marked by the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of national unity. Meanwhile, the national cause maintained its presence on the international stage, and the status of the Sahrawi state was strengthened within the African Union, its institutions, and its partnerships.
The period under review also saw the issuance of UN Security Council Resolution 2797, which reaffirmed that any solution to the conflict in Western Sahara can only be achieved by ensuring the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, like all peoples and nations of the world, in accordance with the UN Charter and relevant resolutions.
