Shaheed El Hafed, September 3, 2026 (SPS) – President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, today chaired the opening session of the Tenth Ordinary Session of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front.
The Tenth Ordinary Session of the National Secretariat will discuss developments in the Sahrawi cause and assess national action across various fronts during the period since the Ninth Session. The assessment will be based on the report presented by the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat, along with supplementary presentations, through discussion and analysis, with a view to identifying the major tasks for the next phase, always drawing on the decisions of the Polisario Front’s 16th Congress, particularly the National Action Programme.
In his official opening address, the President noted the continued work of the government and the popular response to all national programmes, as well as the regular provision of services, despite attempts by hostile parties to use starvation as a means of pressure.
The President paid special tribute to the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army and to all citizens on the various fronts of struggle, particularly the heroes and heroines of the Independence Intifada, foremost among them the prisoners of the Gdeim Izik group.
He warmly saluted all friends of the Sahrawi people for their positions of support and solidarity, foremost among them Algeria, the Algeria of principles.
In his opening address, the President also addressed the current international situation, which he said is characterised by bypassing international legitimacy, prioritising interests, and failing to respect international law.
Mr. Ghali reaffirmed the Sahrawi people’s unwavering commitment to its inalienable and non-negotiable right to freedom and independence, and its rejection of half-measures and partial solutions.
