Berlin (Germany), November 7, 2025 (SPS) – The streets of the German capital, Berlin, witnessed on Thursday evening a massive demonstration organized by the Solidarity Network with Western Sahara and the Association of the Sahrawi Community in Germany, marking the 50th anniversary of the Moroccan military invasion of Western Sahara—an event coinciding with what is known as the “Black March.”

The demonstration started in front of the Embassy of the Moroccan occupying state in Berlin and proceeded toward the German Foreign Ministry buildings, with the participation of dozens of foreign solidarity activists and a large number of Sahrawi community members residing in Germany.

Participants carried flags of the Sahrawi Republic and photos of political prisoners, alongside banners affirming the Sahrawi people's right to freedom and independence, and condemning Morocco’s ongoing occupation of large parts of Sahrawi territory.

The protest featured two speaking platforms—the first in front of the Moroccan embassy and the second near the German Foreign Ministry—where several speeches were delivered by representatives of the Sahrawi community associations, solidarity groups supporting the Sahrawi cause in Germany, and members of German labor unions.

The demonstrators concluded the event by calling on the international community to pressure Morocco to end the occupation and open the way for the organization of a self-determination referendum for the Sahrawi people.
