Shaheed El Hafed, May 19, 2025 (SPS) – The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ibrahim Ghali, stressed that the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) remains steadfast in completing the mission of liberation as its foremost and noblest objective.
In a message delivered on the eve of National Army Day and the 52nd anniversary of the outbreak of the armed struggle, President Ghali stated that the SPLA bears the responsibility of liberation as its primary and sacred mission, emphasizing its continued vigilance, awareness, and readiness to confront the enemy’s new wave of schemes and conspiracies, which carry multiple malicious objectives.
The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces added that since the resumption of armed struggle on November 13, 2020, the Moroccan occupation has sought to conceal its human and material losses and the psychological toll inflicted by the Sahrawi Army’s combat operations on its forces, which remain entrenched behind walls of humiliation and disgrace.
President Ghali pointed out that the Moroccan occupation state has resorted to despicable practices, including settler policies, grave human rights violations, and the targeting of unarmed civilians—both Sahrawis and neighboring populations—through drone strikes, repression, blockades, economic suffocation, land seizures, property confiscation, and the plundering of natural resources.
