Shaheed El-Hafed, March 23, 2026 (SPS) – The preparatory political conferences for the 10th Congress of the National Union of Sahrawi Women (NUSW) officially began today, Monday, at the level of the wilayas and national institutions.
Members of the congress’s preparatory committee were distributed across the wilayas and the various sectors that make up the political and administrative structure of Shaheed El-Hafed, in order to supervise the local conferences. These meetings represent an important stage for gathering the opinions of Sahrawi women on the various programs and regulations that guide the work of the union, as well as recording the most important observations and proposals that will form the basis for discussions during the organization’s 10th congress.
The conferences will examine draft documents concerning the current situation in which the congress is being held, both nationally and internationally, as well as the organization’s work program, its basic statute, and draft messages and recommendations to be issued by the congress. The results will then be presented in the form of reports for each conference.
The committee has also prepared the working frameworks and ensured that all technical and logistical conditions necessary for the success of the conferences are in place.
Delegates to take part in the congress will also be elected. The event will be hosted by Smara Wilaya from April 20 to April 22.
