Shaheed El Hafed, November 13, 2025 (SPS) – The British capital, London, hosted a labor meeting that brought together British trade unions and labor organizations, with the participation of the Secretary-General of the General Union of Workers of Saguia El Hamra and Rio de Oro (UGTSARIO), Mr. Nafei Ahmed Mohamed, via videoconference.

The meeting, attended by a delegation from the Polisario Front led by Mr. Mansour Omar, the Polisario Front’s representative to Europe and the European Union institutions, discussed the implications of the recent United Nations resolution on Western Sahara in light of current developments.

The discussions also addressed the issue of natural resources and the exploitation of them by foreign companies operating in the occupied territories with the complicity of some countries—particularly in the sectors of phosphates, fisheries, and renewable energy—without ensuring labor rights or the participation of Sahrawi workers in the revenues generated from these natural resources.

British trade unions expressed their full solidarity with Sahrawi workers and their readiness to work and coordinate with UGTSARIO to defend their legitimate rights and raise their voices in trade union and international forums, in order to guarantee social justice and human dignity for all Sahrawi workers.
