Shaheed El Hafed, November 5, 2025 (SPS) – Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for African and Arab Affairs, Musaad Boulos, confirmed that the two parties to the conflict are the Polisario Front and Morocco, noting that the Moroccan proposal is not the only solution to the Western Sahara issue.
In an interview with France 24 on the program “The Interview,” Boulos explained that the recent UN Security Council resolution does not consider the Moroccan proposal as the sole solution to the Western Sahara conflict, but rather opens the door to other proposals, in implicit reference to the Polisario Front’s proposal.
Boulos stated that negotiations are open to all proposals and that the solution must be based on consulting the Sahrawi people.
The U.S. presidential advisor emphasized that the two parties to the conflict are Morocco and the Polisario Front, stressing that any solution must be satisfactory and acceptable to both parties.
He also clarified that a referendum remains an available option through which the Sahrawi people can determine their future.
These statements refute the Moroccan propaganda claiming that the UN Security Council has adopted Morocco’s so-called autonomy plan as the sole basis for resolving the Sahrawi issue.
