Moscow (Russia), 08 October 2025 (SPS) – The Central Committee of the Communist Party (Communists of Russia) issued a statement strongly condemning the new agreement signed between the European Union and the Kingdom of Morocco, considering it a blatant violation of international law and the sovereign rights of the Sahrawi people.

In its statement, the party affirmed that the agreement contradicts the rulings of the Court of Justice of the European Union, which clearly established that Western Sahara is a separate and distinct territory from the Kingdom of Morocco, and that any agreement concerning this territory must have the consent of the Sahrawi people.

The statement also recalled that the European court had recognized the right of the Polisario Front—the sole legitimate representative of the Sahrawi people—to take legal action in defense of the Sahrawi people's sovereign rights over their land and natural resources.

The statement further asserted that the new agreement helps reinforce Morocco’s illegal presence in the occupied territories and enables it to continue its systematic repression and human rights violations, constituting an extension of the colonial aggression policy against the Sahrawi people.

The party reaffirmed its full and principled solidarity with the people of the Sahrawi Republic in their just struggle for freedom and independence, stressing that the new agreement undermines international efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region.

The Central Committee concluded its statement by stressing that the agreement represents a clear violation of the right of peoples to self-determination—particularly that of the Sahrawi people—a right enshrined in the United Nations Charter and the resolutions of the UN General Assembly.
