Stockholm (Sweden), October 19, 2026 (SPS) - The Sahrawi women’s delegation organized a lecture titled "The Situation of Sahrawi Women" at the headquarters of Swedish civil society organizations in Stockholm, in the presence of representatives from the Swedish solidarity movement.
During the meeting, the Minister of Social Affairs and Women's Promotion, Ms. Suilma Birouk, reviewed the sacrifices and struggles of Sahrawi women resulting from displacement and exile. She highlighted their pivotal role in building state institutions, managing public affairs, and actively contributing to the national liberation struggle.
For her part, Ms. Mina Baali, a member of the Sahrawi Body Against Moroccan Occupation (ISACOM), shed light on the gross human rights violations and systemic abuse faced by Sahrawi women in the occupied territories at the hands of Moroccan security forces, emphasizing their resilience and determination to continue the struggle.
This lecture is part of a working visit by the Sahrawi women’s delegation to Sweden to brief public opinion on the latest developments regarding the Sahrawi cause and the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence.
