Cape Town (South Africa), August 14, 2025 (SPS) – The Minister of Water and Environment, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Mr. Adda Brahim Ahmim, participated in the proceedings of the second day of the African Water Summit, extending special thanks to the Minister of Water and Sanitation, the government of South Africa, and all the organizers of the summit in his delivered speech.
The Saharawi minister emphasized that this important event is taking place under difficult circumstances faced by the Saharawi people due to occupation and reduced foreign support.
He pointed out that the Saharawi government, through the Ministry of Water and Environment, is implementing a comprehensive strategy focused on increasing production, enhancing storage, and ensuring water access for all citizens. Despite climatic and humanitarian challenges, the government has managed to provide water services free of charge to all citizens.
The minister stressed the need to direct support to countries and peoples lacking sufficient capabilities, contributing to financing projects and implementing strategies aimed at enabling the African continent to secure safe and sustainable water.
