Dublin (Ireland), June 25, 2025 (SPS) – Sinn Féin has renewed its support for the Sahrawi people’s right to freedom and self-determination.
This came during a meeting on Wednesday between Mr. Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire, Sinn Féin’s spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Trade, and a member of the Irish Parliament, and Mr. Nafie Rais, the Polisario Front’s representative in Ireland, at the Irish Parliament building in Dublin.
"Sinn Féin has long stood with the Sahrawi people, sharing in their suffering and struggles to achieve their legitimate rights. We strongly support the Sahrawi people," stated the party’s foreign affairs official.
The Sahrawi diplomat expressed gratitude to Sinn Féin for its principled stance in solidarity with just causes worldwide, including the Sahrawi issue.
He provided an overview of the historical and legal foundations of the Sahrawi cause.
