Mozambican President reaffirms support for Sahrawi people’s struggle

Maputo (Mozambique), June 25, 2025 (SPS) – Mozambican President Mr. Daniel Francisco Chapo reiterated his country’s unwavering solidarity with the Sahrawi people’s struggle for national independence.

In a speech during celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Mozambique’s independence, Chapo stated, "Just as we supported yesterday’s struggles for freedom and independence in Zimbabwe, Namibia, and South Africa, today we firmly stand behind the struggle of the people of Western Sahara for their national independence."

President Brahim Ghali is attending the celebrations at the invitation of his Mozambican counterpart, Mr. Daniel Francisco Chapo.
