Ostend (Belgium), 12 September 2026 (SPS)- The Representation of the Polisario Front in Belgium, alongside members of the Belgian Association for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, participated in the Manifiesta Festival in Ostend, northern Belgium, an event described as a celebration of humanity and an opportunity for exchanging views and ideas.
Held annually, the festival contributes to breaking the media blockade through participation and discussions on key issues affecting societies, including peace, disarmament, human rights, and climate change.
The Sahrawi delegation used the event to introduce participants to the Sahrawi cause and the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people for self-determination and independence, while denouncing the systematic repression practised by the Moroccan occupation against unarmed Sahrawis in the occupied territories.
The event also provided an opportunity to call for the immediate release of all Sahrawi political prisoners held in Moroccan occupation prisons.
The festival brought together civil society organizations and associations, as well as representatives of political parties and cultural figures.
