Luanda (Angola), August 30, 2026 (SPS) – President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, called for building an African system capable of preventing the causes that lead to the outbreak of conflicts.
In his speech during the 21st Extraordinary Summit of the African Union, dedicated to examining ways to strengthen mechanisms for preventing and resolving conflicts on the continent, President Brahim Ghali stressed that it was time to move from “silencing the guns” to building an African system genuinely capable of preventing the root causes of conflicts.
He also stressed that the time had come to renew the collective commitment to decolonization, respect for peoples’ right to self-determination, and rejection of occupation, expansionism, and the alteration of borders by force.
President Brahim Ghali renewed his call for making peace, justice, freedom, and the rule of law inseparable pillars of security and stability on the African continent.
