Benin, August 4, 2026 (SPS) – The Secretary-General of the Sahrawi National Union of Women (NUSW), Ms. Chaba Seini, participated in the African Regional Meeting of the World March of Women, hosted in Benin at the invitation of the World March of Women–Benin.
Held under the theme "African Women United for Justice and Equality," the meeting brought together coordinators and representatives from across the African continent.
The three-day gathering served as a regional platform for consultation, coordination, and preparation for the World March of Women's International Meeting, scheduled to take place in Kenya next October.
During the meeting, the NUSW Secretary-General presented a briefing on the situation of Sahrawi women under Moroccan occupation, in the Sahrawi refugee camps, and in the diaspora. She outlined the various challenges they face, highlighting their role in the national struggle for freedom and independence, as well as their contribution to the resilience and development of Sahrawi society.
