Moscow, May 26, 2026 (SPS) – The representative of the Polisario Front has reaffirmed that the Sahrawi people continues its legitimate struggle for freedom and independence, renewing the call to end the Moroccan occupation and enable the Sahrawi people to exercise its inalienable right to self-determination.

This came during his participation in the proceedings of the Third International Anti-Fascist Forum held in the Russian Federation.

In the speech delivered on behalf of the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi people, the representative highlighted that the Sahrawi people have lived under Moroccan occupation since 1975, in clear violation of United Nations resolutions and the Charter of the African Union. He pointed out that the occupied Sahrawi territories are witnessing serious human rights violations, including repression, arbitrary arrests, and restrictions targeting activists, journalists, and human rights defenders.

He also stressed that the “Wall of Shame,” built by the Moroccan occupation and stretching nearly 2,700 kilometers, is the largest military wall in the contemporary world and symbolizes the suffering of the Sahrawi people under occupation.

He called on the international community to break the wall of silence imposed on Western Sahara, work toward the strict implementation of international law, end the Moroccan occupation, and organize a free and fair referendum under United Nations supervision.

He further expressed appreciation for the positions of the Russian Federation, its people, and the social forces supporting the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, as well as their commitment to the principles of anti-fascism and international solidarity.

The representative also reaffirmed the Polisario Front’s commitment to the principles of peace, freedom, and international solidarity, calling for the unification of progressive forces in confronting fascism, neo-colonialism, and hegemonic policies, and working toward building a more just world based on respect for the rights and freedoms of peoples.
