SPLA inflicts heavy losses on Moroccan occupation forces in Guelta sector

Bir Lehlou (Sahrawi Republic), 07 February 2026 (SPS) – Units of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) targeted Moroccan occupation bases and fortifications in the Guelta sector, causing significant losses in lives and equipment.

A military communiqué issued by the Ministry of National Defense stated that advanced units of Sahrawi fighters carried out a concentrated bombardment on Saturday morning, targeting Moroccan occupation bases and fortifications in the Ashark Laghrab area of the Guelta sector. Artillery positions belonging to the Moroccan occupation army were also targeted in the Ashark Sedra area of the same sector.
