Shaheed El Hafed, 09 December 2025 (SPS) — The National Secretariat reaffirmed that it will not be a party to any political process that seeks to legitimize the unlawful occupation of the territory of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
In a statement concluding the work of its 8th regular session, held under the chairmanship of the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, President of the Republic, Mr. Brahim Ghali, the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front reiterated the Sahrawi side’s constant readiness to engage constructively with the peaceful process sponsored by the United Nations in Western Sahara.
It again underscored the position of the Polisario Front: it will not be a party to any political process or negotiations based on any “proposals,” whatever they may be or whoever their source, that aim to “legitimize” the unlawful Moroccan military occupation of the territory of the Sahrawi Republic or to deprive the Sahrawi people of their inalienable, non-negotiable, and non-expiring right to self-determination, independence, and sovereignty over their homeland.
The National Secretariat emphasized the responsibility of the United Nations and its relevant bodies to complete the decolonization of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa. It called on the UN to assume its responsibilities toward the Sahrawi people and toward a territory under its mandate by ensuring the protection of Sahrawi civilians under occupation, guaranteeing their fundamental rights, stopping the plundering of their natural resources and the confiscation of their property, and immediately releasing all Sahrawi civilian prisoners in Moroccan jails while revealing the fate of the missing.
