Smara Wilaya, 21 November 2025 (SPS) – The activities of the Third International Solidarity Forum for Cultural Exchange for Peace in Western Sahara continued today, Friday, for the third consecutive day, with the presence of the Minister of Culture, Mr. Moussa Salma, representatives from various national institutions, and broad international participation.
The day's events included several presentations emphasizing the promotion of the values of peace and solidarity among peoples, as well as unwavering support for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence.
Dr. Youssef Mechriya, chair of the session, affirmed that the large international presence reflects the growing solidarity and support the Sahrawi cause enjoys from various peoples and nations.
For his part, the Minister of Culture, Mr. Moussa Salma, stressed that the forum serves as a genuine platform to highlight the justice of the Sahrawi cause and to shed light on the suffering and resilience of the refugees despite difficult conditions. He noted that culture and human dialogue form a bridge of communication among peoples and support for liberation causes.
Lecturers from Germany, Italy, and the United States also delivered interventions expressing their humanitarian solidarity with the Sahrawi people, affirming that the defense of justice and human rights transcends borders and nationalities, and is a universal human commitment.
Meanwhile, Mr. Brahim Mbadeh, member of the Executive Bureau of Mauritania’s Union of the Forces of Progress Party, highlighted the deep historical and fraternal ties between the Sahrawi and Mauritanian peoples. He called for strengthening cultural cooperation and popular solidarity to consolidate the values of peace in the region.
The third day of the forum concluded with a series of interactive discussions and open questions between participants and speakers, addressing ways to enhance joint cultural action, the role of civil society in defending peoples’ rights to freedom, and strategies for amplifying their voices internationally.
