Le Havre (France), August 1, 2026 (SPS) – The French Association Camion Citerne pour les Sahraouis (Water Tanker for the Sahrawis) organized a solidarity evening on Friday in Le Havre to mark the end of the summer stay of a group of Sahrawi refugee children hosted by French families.
The event was attended by local elected officials, volunteers, numerous friends of the Sahrawi people, and the representative of the Polisario Front in France.
In her address, the association's president, Nadine Lefrançois, praised the commitment of the host families, volunteers, donors, and partners whose support makes it possible, year after year, to welcome Sahrawi children. She noted that the initiative also serves as an opportunity to raise awareness among the French public about the situation of the Sahrawi people and the reality of their prolonged exile.
Ms. Lefrançois expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in making the solidarity initiative a success, emphasizing that the human bonds formed between French families and the Sahrawi children reflect the strength of the values of fraternity and generosity.
The evening took place in a warm and fraternal atmosphere, once again demonstrating the steadfast commitment of French solidarity networks to the Sahrawi people and their support for their right to freedom, self-determination, and independence.
