Smara Wilaya, 21 November 2025 (SPS) – The Secretary-General of the Algerian National Federation of Imams and Employees of the Religious Affairs and Endowments Sector, Sheikh Jaloul Hajimi, reaffirmed on Friday in the Wilaya of Smara the firm popular and official position of Algeria in supporting the Sahrawi cause and standing by just causes.
Sheikh Jaloul praised the noble positions expressed during the proceedings of the Third International Solidarity Forum for Cultural Exchange for Peace in Western Sahara.
He also pointed to the role of youth in raising awareness about the Sahrawi cause and bringing it to various international forums and arenas.
The Secretary-General emphasized the need for all imams, associations, and civil society actors to engage in solidarity with the Sahrawi and Palestinian peoples and advocate for their usurped rights.
Sheikh Jaloul affirmed that supporting just causes stems from Algeria’s history, a country that sacrificed millions of martyrs for freedom and has remained a destination for the free and a defender of the oppressed worldwide. He praised Algeria’s supportive stance from the very beginning in favor of the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination and independence.
It is worth noting that the Third International Solidarity Forum for Cultural Exchange is continuing for the third consecutive day and has witnessed several interventions and lectures addressing cultural fields and their role in strengthening solidarity among peoples.
