Berlin (Germany), 3 November 2025 (SPS) – The German capital, Berlin, witnessed on Saturday evening a cultural event titled "Memory and Resistance in the History of Sahrawi Women."
The event featured Sahrawi journalist Bababa Hameda and Spanish writer Laura Casellas, who presented their recently published books: Flowers of Paper and Sand in the Eyes.
The discussion highlighted the historical and current foreign colonial presence in Western Sahara, with a focus on the pivotal role of Sahrawi women in resistance and the struggle for self-determination and independence.
It emphasized the lives and resistance of Sahrawi women, as well as the responsibility of colonial states — such as Spain — in matters related to memory, justice, and reparation.
