Algiers, October 25, 2025 (SPS) – The President of the TAJ (Hope Gathering) Party, Mrs. Fatma Zohra Zerouati, renewed her party’s support for the Sahrawi people, based on the justice of their cause and the injustices they continue to suffer at the hands of the Moroccan Makhzen regime.

She emphasized Algeria’s unwavering position in supporting the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.

This came in her address during the party’s second congress, held on October 24–25 in Zeralda, attended by the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Algeria in charge of political affairs, youth, civil society, and political parties, Mr. Mustapha Saïdj, along with several political figures, leaders and representatives of national Algerian parties and organizations, and the Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria, member of the National Secretariat, Mr. Khatri Addouh.

For his part, Ambassador Khatri Addouh expressed his deep gratitude for the firm and sincere solidarity shown by the TAJ Party with the Sahrawi people’s struggle, praising Algeria’s principled stance — both leadership and people — toward the just Sahrawi cause.

The ambassador also warned of the dangerous phase the Sahrawi cause is currently facing, stressing that it is now confronting serious attempts to alter its legal and political nature from the highest international platform, through efforts within the UN Security Council to change the essence of United Nations resolutions that uphold the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.

He clarified that the Moroccan occupying forces, with the backing of certain international actors, are seeking to impose a fait accompli by promoting the so-called “autonomy plan” as the only solution — an attempt to undermine the legal basis that classifies the Sahrawi issue as one of decolonization.
