Mexico City, September 26, 2025 (SPS) – A delegation from the POLISARIO Front actively participated in the 29th International Seminar of Political Parties, held in the Mexican capital, which brought together representatives from leftist and progressive political forces from Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
During the opening ceremony, the Sahrawi delegation delivered a speech conveying the greetings of the Sahrawi people and their legitimate representative, the POLISARIO Front. The delegation highlighted recent developments related to Western Sahara’s ongoing struggle for its inalienable right to self-determination and independence.
In its remarks, the Sahrawi delegation expressed deep appreciation for the historic and ongoing solidarity shown by progressive and leftist parties in the region toward the Sahrawi cause, emphasizing the urgent need to intensify efforts in the face of the Moroccan regime’s occupation and repressive practices.
The delegation also firmly condemned the illegal blockade measures imposed against Cuba, as well as the ongoing threats and acts of interference that undermine the sovereignty and right to self-determination of the Venezuelan people.
In a gesture of internationalist solidarity, the POLISARIO Front delegation expressed support for the heroic resistance of the Palestinian people against Israeli occupation, and called for a unified voice in defense of ending colonialism in all its forms and manifestations. In this regard, it also drew attention to the situation of other peoples still subjected to colonialism, such as Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and New Caledonia.
The Sahrawi participation in this forum reaffirms the POLISARIO Front’s commitment to the struggle of peoples for sovereignty, social justice, and national liberation. It also strengthens ties of cooperation and solidarity with political forces that share these principles.
The Sahrawi delegation was composed of Ambassadors Mohamed Zrug, Head of Relations with the Americas and the Caribbean; Bulahi Mohamed Fadel Director for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign and African Affairs; Mojtar Leboihi, Ambassador to Mexico; and Brahim Abdelfatah, member of the diplomatic mission in Mexico City.
