Distinguished Sahrawi participation in scientific forum at Algiers Capital of Hassani Culture event

Algiers, June 23, 2025 (SPS) – The Algiers Capital of Hassani Culture event witnessed a remarkable presence at its scientific forum, featuring high-level intellectual and academic lectures delivered by prominent Sahrawi scholars.

These sessions addressed themes such as memory, history, Hassani oral heritage, and the role of culture in preserving identity and resisting oblivion.

The delegation also participated in open dialogue conferences, fostering cultural exchange among the components of the Bidhani cultural space.

The first lecture, titled "An Introduction to Some Scientific Knowledge in Hassaniya-Speaking Communities," was presented by Dr. and Researcher Ghali Hamadi Zubeir.

The second lecture, "Hassani Folk Arts and Essential Rites of Passage," was delivered by the renowned writer and poet Zaeem Allal.

Another lecture, "The Influence of African Oral and Spiritual Heritage on the Bidhani Society," was given by media expert and literary researcher Adah Ahmed Mahmoud.

A further presentation, "The African Extension of Hassani Material Heritage," was led by diplomat, writer, and researcher Mustafa Al-Kateb.

Additionally, media specialist Mohamed Lamine Saeed presented an intervention titled "The Role of Hassaniya Dialect in Conveying Reality and Shaping Consciousness Through Cinema."

The forum also featured lectures by professors from Touat, Tamanrasset, Constantine, Tindouf, and Mauritania, covering topics such as: Folktales in Hassani heritage, lifestyle in the Hassaniya-speaking cultural space, points of contact and distinctive features of Hassani depth, the Hassani cultural extension in northern Mali.
