Wilaya of Boujdour, June 17, 2025 (SPS) – The wilaya of Boujdour hosted celebrations today, Tuesday, marking the 55th anniversary of the historic Zemla Uprising and the closing of the 2024/2025 academic year.
The event was supervised by the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, and attended by members of the National Secretariat, the government, the General Staff of the Army, senior state and Front officials, and a large crowd of Boujdour residents.
The ceremony began with a speech by the Governor of Boujdour the wilaya of Boujdour, Dih Mohamed Shaddad, who welcomed the President and his accompanying delegation.
Dih Mohamed Shaddad emphasized that the commemoration was an opportunity to honor the late Sidi Brahim Bassiri, highlighting the achievements and victories attained through the resilience of the Sahrawi people.
The celebrations featured various artistic and folkloric performances by school groups and kindergartens, showcasing the unique cultural traditions that distinguish the Sahrawi people.
The event served as a moment to draw inspiration, lessons, and moral strength to continue the path toward freedom and independence, while honoring the legacy of the martyrs who made immense sacrifices.
