Frankfurt (Germany), May 31, 2025 (SPS) – A delegation from the Polisario Front is taking part in the 41st Federal Congress of the German Socialist Youth Organization Die Falken (The Falcons), held in Frankfurt from May 29 to June 1, following an official invitation from the socialist youth group.
Representing the Polisario Front at the event were Ms. Najat Handi, the Polisario Front’s representative in Germany, and Mr. Mamina Sheikh Malainin, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Sahrawi Students Union (UESARIO).
During their participation, the Sahrawi delegation held a series of meetings with both the outgoing and newly elected leadership of Die Falken, reviewing the existing bilateral relations between the organization and the Polisario Front and exploring ways to strengthen future cooperation and solidarity.
On the sidelines of the congress, the Polisario representative met with Ms. Saskia Esken, Chairwoman and member of the coalition government of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD). Discussions focused on the latest developments in the Sahrawi cause and ways to support the Sahrawi people’s liberation struggle for freedom and self-determination.
The congress also provided an opportunity for the Sahrawi delegation to present a comprehensive briefing on the political and humanitarian situation in Western Sahara to attendees, highlighting the efforts of the Sahrawi representation in Germany. Additionally, they showcased the initiatives of the German solidarity movement with the Sahrawi cause and its future areas of work.
