
Seville (Spain), May 27, 2025 (SPS) – The Freedom March for the release of Sahrawi political prisoners held in Moroccan jails arrived in Seville as part of its journey through several Spanish cities, heading towards Kenitra, Morocco, to demand the release of Sahrawi political in Moroccan jails.
Upon its arrival in Seville, the march was warmly received by solidarity and friendship associations, the Sahrawi community, and the Polisario Front’s representation in Andalusia. A rally was organized to demand the release of all Sahrawi political prisoners held in the notorious Moroccan occupation jails, particularly the prisoners of Gdeim Izik.
Mohamed Salem Daha, the Polisario Front’s representative in Andalusia, expressed his welcome to the march and reaffirmed the representation’s and the Sahrawi community’s support for the French activist Claude Mangin-Asfari.
He called for mobilizing all efforts to ensure the success of the national and international campaign for the release of all Sahrawi political prisoners, especially the Gdeim Izik prisoners in Moroccan jails.
Amid national slogans, raised flags, and banners, the Sahrawi community, in their speeches, urged the Spanish government to correct its stance and assume its moral and legal responsibilities toward the Sahrawi people, pressuring the Moroccan occupation to release all Sahrawi political prisoners.
The event also featured folkloric performances, reflecting the Sahrawi community’s commitment to preserving their cultural heritage, which the Moroccan occupation seeks to erase.
