
Shaheed Al-Hafed, May 15, 2025 (SPS) – A delegation from the Austrian network Sport for Inclusion (SPIN) held a series of meetings with Sahrawi national institutions during its ongoing visit to Sahrawi refugee camps and state institutions.
The meetings included a session with the Secretary-General of the Sahrawi Red Crescent, Mohamed Sidahmed, who provided a comprehensive overview of the humanitarian programs and social services implemented by the organization amid the challenging conditions of displacement, as well as the difficulties it faces in meeting growing needs.
The delegation also met with the Minister of Social Affairs and Women's Promotion, Suilema Beirouk, accompanied by her central ministerial team. The minister presented detailed explanations of the policies adopted by the Sahrawi Republic to integrate people with disabilities, alongside efforts to advance women’s empowerment and enhance their participation in various spheres of public life.
In a related context, the delegation met with representatives of the Scouting and Childhood Organization, which showcased its summer programs, recreational and leisure plans for children, including educational and recreational activities during free time. These initiatives aim to support childhood development in the camps and foster a sense of belonging and citizenship among youth.
