Madrid, May 12, 2025 (SPS) - The representative of the Polisario Front in the Madrid region, Ms. Khadijto Mokhtar, participated in the 13th Congress of the Spanish Labor Committees Union, alongside ambassadors and representatives from various countries and political parties, as well as labor unions from European countries and South America.
Participants called for strengthening the role of labor unions in protecting fundamental human rights and safeguarding the sovereignty of peoples. They emphasized that the current international situation requires collective efforts to support just causes and the struggles of oppressed peoples, such as the Palestinian and Sahrawi peoples.
The General Secretary of the Spanish union, Ms. Paloma López, expressed her solidarity with Palestinian and Sahrawi workers, highlighting the struggle and resilience of Sahrawi women under difficult liberation conditions.
Participants also addressed key issues concerning public opinion at local, regional, and international levels, such as migration, retirement, renewable energy, and wages.
On this occasion, the Sahrawi delegation held several meetings with representatives of political parties and unions that have friendly and supportive relations with the Sahrawi people, including the ambassadors of Cuba and Palestine, as well as deputies from the Socialist Party, the Spanish Communist Party, and a representative from the Argentine Workers' Union.
