Shaheed El Hafed, February 26, 2025 (SPS) – The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, affirmed that the resumption of the armed struggle on November 13, 2020, marked a turning point in the trajectory of the national cause.
In his address to the Sahrawi people, broadcast live on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, President Brahim Ghali pointed out that the Moroccan occupation army’s violation of the ceasefire agreement on November 13, 2020, and the subsequent resumption of the Sahrawi armed struggle as a legitimate response to that blatant violation, constituted a new turning point in the path of the national cause.
The President of the Republic emphasized that Morocco's aggressive actions, along with its previous attempts to legitimize the occupation through settlement, resource plundering, and involving external parties in illegal activities on the occupied territories - politically, economically, and culturally—were orchestrated with the support and encouragement of the same colonial powers that conspired with Morocco in the invasion of Western Sahara since October 31, 1975.
President Brahim Ghali emphasized that the Sahrawi people’s determination to hold onto its rights, its land, and their right to self-defense, coupled with its legendary resilience over more than half a century, has forced these powers - Morocco’s sponsors and protectors - to reveal their true, ugly colonial face, complicit and colluding with the Moroccan expansionist agenda.
