Shaheed El Hafed, September 4, 2026 (SPS) — The National Secretariat of the Polisario Front praised Algeria’s historic and steadfast position in support of the Sahrawi people and their just cause, while expressing its condolences to the Algerian people for the victims of the wildfires that affected several areas of the country.
In a statement concluding the proceedings of its 10th ordinary session, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, President of the Republic, Mr. Brahim Ghali, the National Secretariat, on behalf of the Sahrawi people, expressed to sisterly Algeria under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, its deepest and most sincere gratitude and appreciation for Algeria’s historic, principled and steadfast position alongside the Sahrawi people and their legitimate right to self-determination and freedom.
It expressed its solidarity with the brotherly Algerian people following the wildfires that affected several areas of Algeria and caused extensive damage, while conveying its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
In a related context, the National Secretariat commended the bonds of brotherhood, friendship and good-neighborly relations between the Sahrawi Republic and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, under the leadership of President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, expressing its firm desire to deepen cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly countries.
The National Secretariat also extended its special thanks to all friendly countries and solidarity movements around the world for their principled positions of support and unconditional solidarity with the Sahrawi people and its just cause.
