Bir Lehlou (Sahrawi Republic), August 5, 2026 (SPS) – Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) targeted a support position belonging to the Moroccan occupation army in the Smara sector, inflicting significant losses on the occupation forces.
According to THE Military Communiqué issued by the Ministry of National Defence, and in implementation of the war of attrition strategy, advanced detachments of the SPLA carried out a concentrated bombardment on Wednesday afternoon against a support position of the Moroccan army in the Ouin Terkat area of the Smara sector.
The communiqué stressed that the continued combat operations demonstrate the high level of readiness of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army and its determination to persist in targeting the positions and deployments of the occupation forces, causing considerable human and material losses. It added that the Moroccan occupation army remains confined to a defensive posture and has been unable to curb the effectiveness of the successive strikes carried out by the units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army.
