President of National Council sends condolence messages to speakers of both houses of Algerian parliament following Boumerdès tragedy

Bir Lehlou (Sahrawi Republic), August 1, 2026 (SPS) – Mr. Bashir Mustapha Sayed, member of the National Secretariat, President of the National Council, sent Friday two messages of condolence to Mr. Azzouz Nasri, President of the Algerian Council of the Nation, and Dr. Khalida Boufdèche, President of the Algerian People's National Assembly, following the tragic bus accident in Boumerdès Province, which resulted in fatalities and injuries after a passenger bus veered off the road and overturned.

On his own behalf and on behalf of the members of the National Council, Mr. Bashir Mustapha Sayed expressed his profound sorrow and deep sadness over this tragic disaster. He conveyed his sincerest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria—its leadership, government, and people—as well as to the families and relatives of the victims, reaffirming his full solidarity with the brotherly Algerian people during this painful ordeal.

Mr. Bashir Mustapha Sayed emphasized that the National Council shares the grief of the Algerian people over this great loss and renews its unwavering support for Algeria during this period of national mourning. He noted that this solidarity reflects the strong fraternal ties and historic bonds of solidarity that unite the Sahrawi and Algerian peoples.
