Barcelona (Catalonia), July 21, 2026 (SPS) – The President of the Parliament of Catalonia, Mr. Josep Rull, accompanied by the First Vice-President, Ms. Raquel Sans, and the Second Vice-President, Mr. David Pérez, received Sahrawi children participating in the 2026 Holidays in Peace program.
The reception was attended by the Polisario Front Representative in Catalonia, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ahmed Laabeid, the Chairwoman of the Working Group responsible for organizing the Holidays in Peace program in Catalonia, and the host families.
The ceremony, held in the Parliament's plenary chamber, was opened by the President of Parliament, who welcomed the ambassadors of the Sahrawi people and the Sahrawi Republic. He reaffirmed the unwavering and principled support of the legislative institution representing the Catalan people for the Sahrawi people's just struggle to fully regain their sovereignty and enjoy freedom and independence.
He recalled his visit to the Sahrawi refugee camps in early 1992, during which he toured Sahrawi institutions and praised their high standards and the services they provide to the refugees.
