Tuesday, May 26, 2026 (SPS) – The Algerian Ambassador to Angola, Mr. Mounir Bourouba, stated in an interview with the Angolan News Agency on the occasion of Africa Day, celebrated on May 25, that it is impossible to speak of achieving the goals of decolonization in the African continent without completing the decolonization process in Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa, through the exercise by the people of Western Sahara of its inalienable and imprescriptible right to self-determination, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of international law and the United Nations principle on decolonization.
The Algerian Ambassador to Angola explained that after Algeria gained its independence, its main objective remained the completion of decolonization across the continent, the fight against apartheid, and the strengthening of African unity.
The ambassador also took the opportunity to praise Angola’s continuous, strong, and steadfast support for just causes in Africa and around the world.
