President Brahim Ghali arrives in Kampala to attend inauguration ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni

Kampala (Uganda), May 11, 2026 (SPS) – The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, arrived Monday afternoon in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, to participate in the inauguration ceremony of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni following his victory in the country’s recent elections.

President Brahim Ghali and the accompanying delegation were welcomed at Entebbe International Airport by the Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Mr. Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, in addition to members of the Sahrawi mission in Kampala.

The President of the Republic was accorded an official guard of honor by a unit of the Ugandan Republican Guard, along with a cultural performance reflecting the Ugandan people’s traditions of welcoming guests.

The Republic of Uganda maintains distinguished diplomatic relations with the Sahrawi Republic, reflecting the shared vision of the two countries in various fields.

This official visit will include several activities and bilateral meetings between the two sides addressing the national cause and its African and international dimensions.

Accompanying the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, on this official visit are the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, Mohamed Yeslem Beissat; Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Mohamed Mouloud Mohamed; the Sahrawi Ambassador to Uganda, Nafie Al-Rais; and Wadadi Salek, First Counselor at the Sahrawi Embassy in Kampala.
