Shaheed El Hafed, April 4, 2026 (SPS) – The Bureau of the National Council held a meeting today, Saturday, chaired by the member of the National Secretariat, President of the National Council, Mr. Bachir Mustapha Sayed.
The meeting was devoted to preparing the Council’s contribution to commemorating the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Republic, in addition to reviewing proposals ahead of the upcoming spring session.
The President of the National Council stressed the importance of the Council’s participation in marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Sahrawi state, emphasizing the need for thorough preparation for the event in a way that meets the aspirations of the Sahrawi people and reflects a positive image of the national struggle.
The meeting also addressed the importance of the spring session in enacting and amending laws in line with the development of the Sahrawi state’s institutional framework, as well as the role entrusted to members of the National Council in proposing legislation in areas of concern to citizens.
President of the National Council stressed the need to create favorable conditions for the success of upcoming milestones, strengthen unity and thwart all attempts aimed at undermining the determination and resilience of the Sahrawi people in their pursuit of freedom and independence.
