Vienna (Austria), 24 March 2026 (SPS) – During its General Assembly, which is held every two years, the Austrian Association for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People elected Ms. Muna Duzdar, a member of the Austrian National Parliament, as the new president of the association, succeeding Ms. Karin Schell.
A new leadership body was also elected to guide the association over the next two years.
The General Assembly, which was held Monday evening at the Austrian Parliament building in Vienna, was attended by Mr. Oubi Bushraya Bashir, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic, as a guest of honor. He was accompanied by the representative of the Polisario Front in Austria, Mohamed Slama Badi.
The General Assembly reviewed issues of concern to the association, foremost among them ways to strengthen programs supporting the Sahrawi cause politically and humanitarianly.
