Gran Canaria (Spain), March 6, 2026 (SPS) – The Gran Canaria Council has reaffirmed its firm commitment to defending the Sahrawi people and their just cause during a meeting in which the council received a delegation led by the Polisario Front Representative in Spain, Mr. Abdulah Arabi.
The President of the Government of Gran Canaria reiterated the council’s constant support for the Sahrawi people, stressing the necessity for the Sahrawi people to enjoy their legitimate right to freedom and self-determination.
For his part, the Polisario Front representative in Spain emphasized that the passing of 50 years since the proclamation of the Sahrawi state further strengthens the resilience and struggle of the Sahrawi people for their freedom and independence.
