Shaheed El-Hafed, March 5, 2026 (SPS) – The Prime Ministry organized Thursday an open day to introduce the roles, tasks, and responsibilities it carries out in managing the sectors under its jurisdiction.
The event coincides with the establishment of the first Sahrawi government on March 5, 1976, and the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Republic. The open day was dedicated to presenting the functions of several ministerial sectors directly linked to the Prime Ministry, such as the Ministry of Cooperation, the Ministry of Economic and Financial Affairs, and the Delegate Ministry in charge of Oversight, Inspection, Protection of Public Property, and Relations with the National Council.
During the open day, an exhibition was organized featuring the main programs carried out by the Prime Ministry, along with a presentation of the various governments since the founding on March 5, 1976, up to 2026. A total of 18 successive governments were highlighted, with details provided for each government, including the Prime Minister and the ministerial portfolios it comprised.
On this occasion, the official gazettes issued by the 18 governments and their annual programs were also displayed.
Each ministry (the Ministry of Cooperation, the Ministry of Economic and Financial Affairs, and the Delegate Ministry for Oversight, Inspection, Protection of Public Property, and Relations with the National Council) presented an overview of its stages of development, organizational structure, tasks, and role in institutional building.
The open day concluded with a solidarity gathering in support of the people in the occupied territories.
