Nicaragua, October 10, 2025 (SPS) – The headquarters of the National Assembly of Nicaragua hosted a celebratory event marking the 50th anniversary of National Unity, attended by members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group between the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and Nicaragua, members of the National Assembly, and the Sahrawi Ambassador to Nicaragua, Mr. El-Ouali Ali Salem El-Mahfoud.
During the event, the Sahrawi Ambassador delivered a lecture on National Unity, in which he highlighted its significance and meaning for the Sahrawi people, noting that it represents a great achievement under which the Sahrawi people have made numerous gains in various fields.
The Sahrawi diplomat also briefed the attendees on the latest developments regarding the Sahrawi cause, particularly amid the intensifying confrontation with the Moroccan occupation following Morocco’s violation of the ceasefire agreement on November 13, 2020.
The ambassador praised the excellent relations between Nicaragua and the Sahrawi Republic.
For their part, the National Assembly and the Parliamentary Friendship Group expressed the solidarity of the Nicaraguan Parliament with the Sahrawi people and their just cause.
