Tanzania reiterates solidarity with Sahrawi people, their right to freedom and self-determination

New York (USA), September 25, 2025 (SPS) - Tanzania has reaffirmed its absolute solidarity with the Sahrawi people and their just cause, and their legitimate right to freedom and self-determination.

This came in a speech by the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Philip Isdor Mpango, during the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, where he stated, "We stand in solidarity with the peoples of Palestine and Western Sahara, who are still deprived of their fundamental rights to freedom, sovereignty, and self-determination."
