Kampala (Uganda), August 28, 2025 (SPS) - The President of the National Council, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Mr. Hamma Salama, representing the President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, participated today, Thursday, in the proceedings of the congress of the Ugandan National Resistance Movement, hosted in the capital, Kampala.
The congress was inaugurated with a speech delivered by President Yoweri Museveni, in which he evaluated the era experienced by the Movement, highlighting the achievements made since it assumed power in 1986, and expressing his gratitude to the party delegates for renewing their confidence in him and electing him for a sixth term until 2031.
Mr. Richard Todwong, the Secretary-General of the party, also delivered a speech. After welcoming the participating delegations, he addressed the strength, weight, and regional and international standing of the National Resistance Movement under the leadership of President Yoweri Museveni.
Mr. Hamma Salama is expected to hold meetings with important figures in the party and the state.
